Pack 3060 Official Rules 2. Only materials from the official pinewood derby kit may be used. No replacement axles, wheels, etc., may be used. 3. Cars must weigh no more than 5 ounces (156.25 grams). During the inspection process, you may use tape to attach weights (coins, nuts, washers, etc.,) to the car to bring it up to weight. 4. Only dry lubricants allowed (no grease or WD40 allowed). 5. Numerous awards are given, but you should design your car for both speed and appearance. The Race Environment Conduct of the Race 2. Races will be done within each den with each car racing multiple times on multiple lanes of the track. The race committee will assign lanes. 3. Winning cars from each den will race for the pack championship. 4. If a car leaves its lane and continues down the track so that it doesn't interfere with other cars, the heat will be called normally. If it does interfere with other cars, the heat will be rerun. If the same car leaves its lane again, it will get last place in that heat. 5. Finish line judges will assign the order of finish for all heats. Their judgments are final. 6. Repairs to damaged cars are allowed, so long as the car is ready for its next heat. Scouts should perform repairs with assistance of the adult partner. 7. Anything that hasn't been covered will be decided by the race committe using common sense and fair play. |
